We all assembled at Asylum Lake park at 7am on Saturday morning, Dec 6th and huddled around trying to stay warm.
All footage shot on Canon C100 with FreeFly Systems Movi M5 and Sony FS700.

Some C100 handheld action was also employed.

Impact Athletic

For this project, our client, Impact Athletic, gave us free reign to do whatever we wanted as long as it was zany.
The "intern" is actually the intern, (Rob Heath) other than that, it's all just good old fashion weirdness.

Jeremy wrote the script, Jonny produced the video, camera was Dan Baker, post production was Dan Martinez, Jeremy Angeletti and Dan Baker.
Other Crew on the shoot were Angel Arnold, Nick Benitez, Brooke Mayle.

OLD BURDICK'S TV SPOT

For this spot, we channelled our inner Sam Elliot and went for a subtle "Big Lebowski Opening Scene" feel. We needed a rugged cowboy - feeling character and we remembered the guy who won our beard and mustache collaboration event with Damn Handsome Grooming Co. His name is Mike Pixley and he races vintage sports cars and has a sweet mustache... so he seemed rugged enough.
This spot features many of our other friends including Jeff and Jodi Bodtke, Rob Bodtke, Jonny Jermyn, Carrie Heath, Sydney Hill, Consuelo Salazar, Jeremy Shank, Angel Andrews, Jada Brown, Jarrett Blackmon, Bridget Blackmon, Bisera Urdarevik.

Most of this spot was shot using our Sony FS700. We alternated between shooting at 24fps and 240fps. We used our Kessler dolly track and K-Pod to track our "frozen" scenes. Some scenes were shot on our Canon C100 w/Atomos Ninja monitor.

We took this project from concept to completion, including story development, scripting, casting, storyboarding, all production and post production. Voice Over provided by the talented Jack Baer.

JEREMY AND TRACY BE HAVING A GIRL

Rhino is a family.
Our family just got a little bigger.
Jeremy and Tracy announced they are having a little girl last weekend in the new second level of Rhino's studio.
Such exciting times.

SHORT FILM: A GIVING TREE EVENING.

It's no secret that one of our best friends is Giving Tree Photography (Jodi Bodtke and her sidekick, Jade Stell). We go back a ways and the connections run pretty deep. We even had the privilege of shooting Jodi and her husband Jeff's wedding day. 

So with all this fun synergy going on, we came up with an idea to spend a few short hours shooting on the shores of Lake Michigan while she and Jade do their thing. 
It was a really fun opportunity to try new production techniques, catch some amazing sunset light and just have a blast with some friends.

For this short, we set out to utilize as much footage as we could while creating a piece that allows the viewer to see the joy that runs through Jodi and Jade's veins, but also understanding the work and effort involved in the work they do.
Shot entirely on Sony FS700 and Canon 5D Mark 3.

DARK HORSE NATION PREMIERE PARTY VIDEO

One of our favorite Rhino Clients - Dark Horse Brewing Company in Marshall, MI - has a new TV show based on the antics of the people behind the company! We, of course, are stoked to be a part in any way we can. We produce a lot of photo/video/graphics/web for Dark Horse and we were on hand to create a video showcasing the rad premiere party they threw at the DH compound.
These guys are the awesomest of clients because they appreciate the work we do, they trust that we understand who they are and they let us be as creative as we want to make fun stuff for them...

This show is a testament to their hard work, authenticity and unwavering commitment to not doing anything in a normal fashion.

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY: LUSH NUTS

We were asked to provide studio photography for one of our favorite local brands: Lush Gourmet Foods, more commonly known as Lush Nuts. Lush is owned by Bisera, who has a wonderful palate and loves developing unique combinations such as Coconut Lavender, Dark Cocoa Chili, Hot Curry and quite a few more.

These photos were shot by Rhino Photographer Nick Benitez with Michael Lathrop serving as Production Assistant.

KALAMAZOO GROWLER'S BASEBALL - TV SPOT #3

The latest TV spot for the Kalamazoo Growler's of the Northwoods league. This spot had the added challenge of incorporating game information and sponsor information... which is always tough to do when mostly you just want to show sweet shots of baseball action. I'm very happy with the turn out here.

Also, the music was custom recorded by myself (KR) and Ben Lau of Double Phelix Studios in Kalamazoo, MI. That's always fun.

DOES A BEAR PITCH IN THE WOODS?

Original concept produced for the Kalamazoo Growlers.
For this, we wanted to produce something a little more lighthearted to help promote the fact that baseball was back in Kalamazoo.
The idea for this came to me (Kevin) in the middle of the night as I was pondering on ways that we could be fun, clever and introduce several elements of the Growler's branding into one quick story.

United Teens Talent Show Promo

For this project, the Kalamazoo Arts Council commission us to produce a promotional video for the United Teens Talent Show.
Our concept was to create a synergy between individual performers such that they are all performing as individuals but as as a cohesive unit for the video.
We wrote a custom track and recorded it with 6 of the high school students at Double Phelix studios in Downtown Kalamazoo.
